Extraordinary Feats
We will not achieve extraordinary feats through ordinary means.
It occurs to me that within most of us is a desire to do something extraordinary, for some of us it dies but many of us have dreams we long to see fulfilled. I watch people approach grand dreams with an regular amount of effort, a standard amount of commitment, a medium level of audacity and an average supply of perservance. I think people do have dreams but don't want to paid the expensive cost to see their dream realised.
Jesus said something i think about a lot:
"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, 'This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.'
It reminds me to consider what my dream will cost me and whether i'm prepare to make the expensive sacrafrices. Many people through history have achieved great feats but none through ordinary means.

Good post Trav.
I agree - its like we all have this in-build desire to be apart of something that is bigger than ourselves (I did a whole blog on this the other month!).
And its a challenging thought to think that we cant achieve the dream we have without sacrifice. But your so right.
